What Color is Your Parachute? Or is that just Me?

March 15, 2011

I am constantly on the search for a new bra.  I read a while back that bras should be replaced every three to six months because certain things can trigger size changes to your breasts.  Now, I certainly don’t go get fitted every three to six months, but if I’m out shopping I will usually browse the lingerie department for something sexy and/or functional.  Mostly functional.

A proper bra fitting is horrifying.  Have you had one?  I mean, there are worst things, but dangling my ta-tas into the cups for the perfect fit is so embarrassing. Plus, explaining my needs to the 18-year-old sales girl with the perfect rack, working on commission, and who has yet experienced herself the state of a post-breast feeding tit usually nets the same result: 34DD.

And it’s not right.  A 34 squeezes too much and a double-D?  It conjures thoughts of Pam Anderson, doesn’t it?

So, I usually skip the fitting and pick up the same old granny style nude bras.  Some fit when I get home and some don’t.  Goodwill has gotten their fair share of expensive and unused bras over the years!

Nordstrom, Kohls, Target, Steinmart, Victoria’s Secret.  The list of stores goes on and on.  Too padded, too sheer, too lacy, too scratchy, too tight, too loose, and so on.  I’ve even considered QVC one late night during their airing of Breezies.  Have you seen it?  But honestly, I’m not looking for something that helps my boobs breathe.  I want something that fits and flatters and doesn’t look like a hand-me-down from my Grandma!

Where did you get your favorite bras from?  More importantly, what color is it?

Tidbit: this post is rewritten from one I wrote for my original blog almost two years ago.  Alas, the quest still continues.

I need to look at mine, but I was recently at an outlet and got a BUNCH that I love… they are simple, every day bras- Barely There.

But I cannot remember who makes them!

Dude! I JUST got new bras… thought i was "in between" sizes and was gonna get cutlets then wandered into Nordies (Had to use the potty) and was next the lingerie section. They had the cutlets, but I was 'fit' anyway and it rules! Who knew I was a 34C? But my breastses are very happy now!
I have no input for you… try 36C? It's all a racket. Bras, Health Ins, and periods… it's all a racket.
