I’ve Got Another Confession to Make

July 12, 2011

So, I confess…I’m a make-up junkie.  A product whore.  I love, love, love anything that I think will make me look younger and prettier.

But, I’m also a big time slob.  I can’t believe I’m showing you what my bathroom make-up bag looks like.  It’s filthy. I’m surprised I haven’t broken out with some kind of nasty bacterial infection.

I need an organization solution to this make-up mess.  Anyone remember Caboodles? If you were a teenager in the late ’80′s, I’m sure you do.  They even still sell them.  But, I’m looking for something a little more mature.  A hot pink carrier isn’t exactly what I’m in the market for.
I can’t even zip it up!
Here’s the other thing…I really only use like five products everyday.  Everything else is for when I have more than five minutes to put myself together. But what’s really sad is that I’m terrible at putting make-up on.  I never had anyone teach me what to do.  I’ve never been able to do my eyes.  I don’t feel like I can wear eyeliner.  Or red lipstick.  Blush?  I only started wearing that a few years ago.
My daily routine.  So sad.
I adore Smashbox Cosmetics.  Listen to me…NEVER buy Smashbox retail!  QVC has the absolute best deals and an easy return policy.  They also make the best brushes around and you can always find those on QVC at a fraction of the price.

This is what I use most mornings: Smashbox Photo Finish primer.  Bare Minerals Bisque for covering up any redness, scars, zits.  Smashbox Halo for all over powder.  Jane Iredale blush.  Maybelline Lash Discovery mascara and a Shu Uemura eyelash curler.  And I never forget about the lips…I always use some kind of Chapstick product with an SPF.
Fun new primer with good coverage!
This was a recent find: L’Oreal Studio Secrets.  It’s a primer too and I’ve found it has better coverage than the Smashbox product I usually use.  I gotta thank Petit Elefant for doing a vlog on this product, otherwise I would have never picked it up.

What are your go to products?  Do you have a solution to my make-up mess?  How about referrals to any good blogs with make-up how how-tos?
