I haven’t been around much this week and I’m not even sure where the days went! I thought I’d go through my Instagrams to see where the week of October 9th went. Let’s see what I’ve got.
I was invited to attend a “Mad Men” themed event at the Anaheim Convention Center with about 500 other bloggers. It was fun to see everyone get dressed up and I certainly tried my best. I gotta say, I kind of dug the teased hair and blue eyeshadow. This may just end up being my Halloween costume too since everything else looks like something a street walker would wear.
We’ve been shopping for some art – and I use that term loosely – for our downstairs and I can’t help be be drawn to these subway-style wall plaques. They don’t really go with our traditional style decor but I’m completely obsessed and hoping I can do this in our bedroom. Maybe not the “Call Your Mother” one though. Creepy.
My pal, Maegan at Beyond the Bandaids, hosts a great podcast on Tuesdays (click here to check it out). Anyway, she had Michelle from Muffin Tin Mom on as her guest and they talked nutrition for kids. I learned SO much from that 30 minute podcast – did you know ginger ale keeps sliced apples from browning? Right? Anyway, I tested the muffin tin meal out on my own kid and she inhaled every last crumb. So smart and so easy.
Holy heat wave in southern California. Glad that’s over with. Fall is now back in session.
Ahh…Friday! Finally here. We checked into the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey so we wouldn’t have to drive home from Inglewood after the Foo Fighters concert. The fog rolled in just after getting to our room.
“Custom Hot” – what is this you’re wondering. It’s supposed to be “Hotel” but obviously the “E” and the “L” weren’t working. We got a good laugh at it en route to the concert.
A super treat…Dave Grohl subbed on drums for Cage the Elephant (the supporting act before the Foo). I know you can’t make head or tails of this photo but I know Mr. Grohl is on the skins and it makes me happy to look at.
Speaking of Mr. Grohl…here he is playing some acoustic guitar during the encore on a little stage he would run back and forth from. The whole night was awesome.
