I have my usual clothing haunts. Old Navy for something cute and on the cheap but I go knowing their stuff will only go so far. These are not collector pieces, right? Except maybe for some pajama bottoms I’ve had for nearly four years. Nordstrom for the nicer name brand stuff but I’m really not into “labels” so I usually go here for new jeans when the occasion rises. The Loft for the casual but nicer things like capri pants or a dress. That place was my go-to when I worked in an office so it’s hard to get that “I’m shopping for work clothes” vibe out of my head when I go in there. And Anthropologie – mostly just to browse – because if I was four sizes smaller I could buy stuff from there.
Well, I think I might have found a new little shopping spot. It’s called DownEast Basics and it falls in between Old Navy and The Loft. Cute sweaters and tees, dresses and skirts. All at great price points too.
Last night, I was invited to a mixer at their new store in the Irvine Spectrum. This isn’t a sponsored post and I’m under no obligation to write about DownEast Basics in exchange for going to the mixer. I just wanted to share with you what I got and what I liked!
Here’s some things I didn’t get but loved, loved, loved.
My bloggy friend Leila from Don’t Speak Whinese tried this cute jacket on. $39.99
I didn’t even mention that they also have really pretty and adorable clothes for girls sizes 2-14.
If you’re an Orange County local and at the Irvine Specturm, you should definitely check out DownEast Basics. It’s located on the stretch between Target and Anthropologie. So, what do you think of my picks?
[Disclosure: I was invited to the blogging mixer at DownEast Basics and received a $25 gift card and scarf for attending. All my opinions are my own and I was not asked to write a review of the store. Plus, I’m hoping my husband gets some Christmas ideas from this post!]
