Great Posts from Around the Way

January 17, 2012

I read two absolutely fantastic posts in the last two days that I believe are worthy of sharing here. And yes, this gets me out of writing original content of my own today. {Hey, I’m super busy this week planning a four-year-old Barbie birthday bonanza, reviewing edits of a new project I’m working on that will be go live in just a few days, and as you other bloggers know, it’s day two of #SITS31DBBB and I’m already two days behind!}

Crazy enough, both posts are about animals but in completely different ways.

First up, Ashley at It’s Fitting writes about her chickens (yes, she’s an urban girl turned farmer) and their beautiful “egg song.” I cannot agree more with her views on how women behave and how we should be supporting each other instead of tearing each other down.

The second post comes from Chrissy at Chrissy, Inspired (a brand new blog – which I’m totally in love and slightly obsessed with – by a long time blogger). She’s writing about intentional living (a topic near and dear to my heart) and knowing where your meat and poultry come from before they land on your plate.

If you haven’t read either of these bloggers, I suggest you do.

Comment below and tell me if you got a chance to click on over to either Ashley’s or Chrissy’s blogs!

Other tidbits of news…

I’ll {me, not my blog} will be featured over at Talk About Health on Wednesday, 1/18. Talk About Health is where patients and caregivers get personalized, helpful, and accurate answers from experts, survivors, and partner organizations. I was approached by Talk About Health after meeting them through my weekly breast cancer Twitter chat (Mondays, hashtag #bcsm – if you’re a currently patient, survivor, or caregiver come join in. Great group of people!). Anyway, I’m hoping to get a few questions from the breast cancer community and hope that I can answer them!

Also, if you haven’t heard about SOPA or PIPA you should definitely Google it. However, if you wait to look for it on Wednesday it might be too late as Google is supposed to be going “dark” from 8am to 8pm Eastern standard time. If you think the internet is awesome and would miss it if it was gone (or Facebook, Wikipedia, Google, Pinterest, blogs, podcasts, Tumblr, Flickr, WordPress, etc), you might want to check out this video from MomsLA to get a better understanding of why SOPA and PIPA matter.

I’m pretty certain Wendy Will Blog won’t be dark on Wednesday because though I think the internet rocks I don’t want to turn away any of my loyal readers.
